Same ting a ling
the audience will be able to tell that my three mediums are connected as all three of them have my logo in the bottom right hand corner. I also put the website and phone number of my campaign in the left hand corner of all my mediums and made it yellow. I also put the text of the three mediums in yellow and made tha background black for all of the three mediums. this would tell the audience that these three mediums are connected from the same campaign.

da billboard
i took my final picture for my billboard of a person lying down with a ball next to him. I put no effect on the picture so that the audience could see that there is a person lying down dead on the floor. I put the title as "down 'n' out" meaning that the person is down on the floor and out of the world because he is dead. I put my logo in the bottom right hand corner to follow the codes and conventions of a billboard. I put a text under the picture saying " fasal, 16 years old was playing football with his mates 2 seconds ago" this would emphasise that young people are effected badly and also that it only takes a few seconds to end some 1s life with a gun.

I did research on the internet and printed out some documents. I anotated these documents and then put them in my folder. I also printed out pictures and then anotated them aswell.
photo shopping
i used photoshop 2day to check out different effects that i could use for my campaign. I decided to use different effects for my different pictures. I also checked out how different colours looked with a black background. I will be using a black background on all of my three mediums to show that they are part of the same campaign. I completed my poster and my bus stop advert by using photoshop.

Wardend braaaaaap
On saturday i went to play football down Warden park, n seen this wall with graffiti on it, so i took a picture of it as it would be a great setting for my bus stop advert. The graffiti is a great extra to my picture as it links in nicely with gun crime. The graffiti also emphasises that the setting is on a street.Tuesday, 19 February 2008
Fonts

http://www.graffiticreator.net/ I used this site to design the font for my bill board and the bus stop advert as these 2 mediums will be having a graffiti font as this two mediums will be placed on the streets, so it will blend in nicely. It reads "down n out" which is the slogan for my campaign. I have made 2 so that one can be used for my billboard and the other can be used for the bus stop advert. I have chosen 2 different fonts so that it shows some differentiation between the 2 adverts.

Research are gwarnin
I had to get further research for my gun crime campaign so I went and googled gun crime. I found this site (source) http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/crime-victims/reducing-crime/gun-crime/ and it has a great deal of information about gun crime, facts and figures, how the home office are helping and also how we can help to eliminate this new culture of gun crime.
After checking that link i went to the 2nd link that google offered and the site was (source) http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/2640817.stm this showed a bbc news article that was titled "gun crime soars by 35%" and included information such as There were 9,974 incidents involving firearms in the 12 months to April 2002 - a rise from 7,362 over the previous year. That represents an average of 27 offences involving firearms every day in England and Wales, with guns fired in nearly a quarter of cases. This is another reason why i chose to focus my campaign on gun crime. This figures show that gun crime has increased over the past couple of years.

ave dat Sam
For my billboard i will be having a picture of some one on the floor so that the audience can just see the shoe of the person and the pictures is going to be faded out. Its going to have a big title saying "down and out". I will be having my logo on the bottom right hand corner. For my bus stop advert i will be having a picture of a person from the back to show that they are walking away, this could mean that they are either walking away from the crime scene or turning their backs on the gun crime. I wil be having the logo in the bottom right hand corner and the title for this would be "walking without care" which is a play on words from the snowman tune "walking in the air" . For my poster i will be having a person in a cell, the picture will be very dark so that only the eyes are visible. I will be having the logo in the bottom right hand corner and the title will be " lights out boys" which is what a prison guard would say to an inmate. I would also include breif information about the prison sentence.
Measurements
For my production i will be making a billboard, poster and a bus stop advert. The measurements for the billboard will be 480" by 120" (1219.2 cm x 304.8 cm). The measurements for the poster will be 80" by 120" (203.2 cm x 304.8 cm). The measurements for the bus stop advert will be 120cm by 180cm.

still gt love for the streets
2day I was drawing some ideas for my campaign. I had an idea of having a red hand print, to represent blood, with a title saying "blood on your". I left it as that to keep it simple but also striking at the same time. The blood will represent the deaths of the people involved with gun crime. I will be using this idea for the logo of my campaign.
Rock paper scissors

this is another gun crime poster that focuses on a phone call stopping gun crime. There is also limited colour used in this poster to show simplicity and also be striking to the audience. This poster is similiar to the other poster as it is part of the same campaign. The poster starts of like a campaign for children as it shows to hands playing rock paper scissors, however this changes to a phone and a gun. It shows the phone beating the gun and this is also written as a caption for the picture. The hands are black which could be showing that gun crime mainly affects black people. This poster also includes the number to call, this is done so that the audience can communicate with the organisation. This is a type of advertisement that you would find on a billboard as it has no writing and is also striking so people would just be giving it a quick glance and still be getting the main idea.
stopin dem thangs
This is another poster against gun crime. In this poster there is a close up of the trigger of the gun and a mobile phone stopping the trigger. This shows that a phone call can stop the gun crime. In this poster there is only a little bit of writing, this is done so that people would concentrate more on the pictures. The poster also gives a phone number so that people are able to contact them. The poster has limited colour of mostly black to keep is simple and also make it look striking.Thursday, 31 January 2008
Dont trigger
this is a logo about stopping gun crime. As you can see the hand is half of a black person's and half a white person's. This shows racial harmony between the different races. There is also a stop sign around the hand which tells the audience to stop the gun crime. The hand is also in the shape of a gun, this is done to represent a gun and could also mean that a gun could end up in anyones's hands. The words "don't trigger" tells the audience to stop the gun crime.

Boxers or Briefs
I found out that the brief was in for the 1st of Feb, so I decided to start my brief. I didn't know what to include so I checked on the moodle site and got help. I also got some help from another student of what to include in the brief. The breif has to include what my idea is and I will also be putting in all the research that I have gathered and the textual analysis that I have done of 2 similiar gun crime posters. By the way the brief has to be 500 words long!!!!!!!!!!!!

More analysis
The denotation of this poster is that its showing 3 men in the foreground and bars in the background, which shows that they are locked up.
The connotation of this poster is that its showing the consequence of being involved in gun crime. The men in the foreground have the same cartoon effect as the other poster, this has been done on photoshop. The faces of the men are not detailed which could mean that it could be anyone. The men are all wearing bright blue so that all the audience's attention is focused on the men and are aware of the consequences. It shows men in jail instead of women, because it is a stereotype of men usually being in prison than women. The poster has a rhetorical question, which is in the same theme as the other poster. The poster also concentrates on the consequences of being involved in gun crime which was similiar to the other poster.
The lighting on this picture is very dull to show that life in prison will be very dull and boring. The poster has been shot in a mid-shot to show all 3 of the men and to show the bars behind them. The genre for this poster is gun crime and the target audience for this poster is young men as they are stereotypicially most likely to be involved in gun crime.

sumfin new
2day I learnt what denotation and connotation. I will be using these two terms in my textual analysis of campaigns that are similiar to mine. Denotation is "what its of" and connotation is "whats its about". I also found out what I had to include in my brief which I will be working on.
Here is an example of a poster related to gun crime.
The denotation for this poster is that its showing a young man in the foreground and a city scape in the background.
The connotation for this poster, is that it is has a hidden meaning about doing anything for your friends, in this example it is about gun crime. It has two rhetorical questions on it, that make the audience think about the consequences and if we are willing to do anything for our mates. The poster is communicating with the audience by asking them questions. The young man in the foreground is in a cartoon style, which has been done on photoshop and the face hasn't got much detail, which could mean that it could be anyone that is involved with gun crime. There is a male in the picture, as females are seen to be related with gun crime unless they have been shot dead. The bottom of the poster is not visible, but it shows the man handing the gun to the audience, almost asking them if they will do anything for their mates and then do the time. The main message of this poster is that the minumum sentence for being involved with gun crime is 5 years.
The lighting on this picture is dull however the person at the front has been coloured orange to make him stand out. The picture has been taken in a mid-shot to show the man, it also shows the building in the background, to show a city scene. The genre for this poster is that gun crime will be giving you 5 years or more. The target audience is young men as they are stereotypically involved in gun crime.

Next level research
I did some research into Adbusters, which is a organisation that produces many campaign posters. The posters that were on the site were very good as they give a great perspective and would also help me with my campaign. The picture is an example of one of their posters. The site also gives you tips on how to make your own posters, which I will be using when creating a poster for my campaign.
Hang tight Roll Deep
I have done some further research into the the gun crime campaigns, and have found a video made by a group called Roll Deep and the tune is called Badman, which is reffering to the gunman. They also use lines such as "you can be a badman without a revolver" which is an idea into what slogan I could use. The video also shows how others, including family members are affected, which is one of the perspectives that I will be viewing gun crime in my campaign.
Here is the clip, check it

My final idea has come!!!!!!!!!
My idea for a charity campaign will be based on gun crime. I will be making anti-gun crime posters to make everyone aware of this rapidly growing gun culture. I will be basing my campaign on the idea of innocent people getting killed, family members being traumatised and how easy it is for young people to get their hands on a gun. I will include the different words and phrases to describe a gun e.g. "Leng".
Back 2 square 1
I have decided to do a charity campaign against gun crime. I reckone that this would be very successful as the day and age that we live in today is overpowered by gun crime. There are not many gun crime campaigns, so it will be easier to come up with an original idea.
I didnt do the games package because there is already a wide variety of games out there, so coming up with an original idea would be very difficult.
I have been doing a lot of research on the different types of anti- gun crime posters and campaigns and have gained a huge amount of information and ideas for my campaign. The anti-gun crime campaigns are stereotypically aimed at teenagers related with gang culture and hoodies, however I will be making sure that my campaign is aimed at all audiences.
2nd idea
I will be doing research into teenage magazines as the campaign idea wasn't right for me. I have an idea of making a football magazine for teenage boys and girls. However it wont' be a good idea to have a double spread full of football, as I wouldn't have much to say about it. It is also targeted at a younger audience which will be difficult to do as I am young adult.
